Please take a few minutes of your time to read our terms and conditions. Your understanding of your subscription and our Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) project is important to us.
Community Shared Agriculture
Food Connect Adelaide Pty Ltd is a social business. We work by CSA principles and philosophies. Our aims are to support local farmers, provide fresh and affordable healthy food and connect communities. We are more than just a food delivery service; we are a community enterprise that trades for the purpose of delivering positive social and environmental outcomes for our farmers, rural and urban communities.
The following terms and conditions provide guidelines on how you can directly support the CSA project to ensure the ordering and collection of your produce runs as smoothly as possible. In turn, we aim to provide a friendly, helpful community that connects you to your food and to the people who grow it and the land it grows on.
Ordering Instructions
To receive Food Connect Adelaide produce, you are required to take out a minimum of a four week subscription of one of our fresh produce boxes. Subscriptions provide security for the farmers and the CSA project; they also provide security for you, as a subscription will protect you from any price rises during that period.
During your subscription you may change your produce box order, skip deliveries if you are away, or request fortnightly, three weekly or monthly delivery periods.
You may change your order during your subscription, (online once login details for the online ordering system have been issued) or by calling or emailing us by 12pm Friday the week before your delivery is due. We place our orders with the farmers each Friday, therefore changes before this day ensure you get the freshest produce, and we minimise food waste on the farms and at our warehouse. If you change to a more expensive item, you will need to pay the difference before delivery is made, and if you change to a less expensive item, the excess funds stay in your account and can go towards your next subscription.
If you would like to skip your delivery for a week please make this change online, or call or email us. Again, please notify us by the Friday 12pm the week before the change is required. Payment must be received by Food Connect Adelaide before delivery will occur. Please allow enough time for your payment to reach us – for bank transfers, allow 3 working days and for cheques, allow 10 working days.
Login details for the online ordering system will be forwarded to you when this function is available. For payments made online by credit card, there will be a minimum transaction value of $30 to help us cover credit card charges.
There is no extra charge for delivery.
All prices are subject to change from time to time. We will publish new prices on the Food Connect Adelaide website and in the Farmletter, giving you notice of any changes if possible.
All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST.
Customer Service Policy
Food Connect Adelaide is committed to providing exceptional customer service and quality products. We endeavour to make sure that all products listed on our website are currently in stock and pricing is true and correct.
Standard delivery timeframes are dependent on your location, you will be advised which day we deliver in your area to your chosen City Cousin; in the event that an ordered item is not available or we are unable to fulfil your order we will notify you within 2 business days to arrange an agreeable alternative item, a backorder or a full refund.
Collection from your local City Cousin
City Cousins form an essential part of our distribution system. They are NOT retail shops. You must contact your City Cousin at least 48 hours before your first delivery date to introduce yourself, to find out their address and the pick up times. Please do this as early as possible as you may not be able to get hold of your City Cousin at the last minute.
Please respect the privacy of your City Cousin by adhering to the pick up times which they will arrange with you prior to your first delivery.
If you are unable to pick up your produce during the arranged pick up hours, contact your City Cousin as soon as possible and organise alternative arrangements. Do not wait for us/your City Cousin to contact you – take responsibility for collection of your produce.
If you do not collect your box within the designated time and your City Cousin has not been able to make contact with you to arrange collection, your box will remain at their property until 5pm the day after delivery. After that time, Food Connect reserves the right for any uncollected boxes to be given away to charity. No refunds will be provided for uncollected boxes or boxes delivered to charity.
For ordering, produce and payment enquiries please contact the Food Connect Adelaide Homestead and not your City Cousin. City Cousins do not handle orders or cash for Food Connect Adelaide.
Your empty boxes and glass bottles should be returned to your City Cousin each week. We collect this packaging and reuse it.
Product Satisfaction and Returns Policy
Your subscription is non-refundable except in special circumstances or if there is dissatisfaction with product or service in line with the Fair Trade Practices Act.
If you are dissatisfied with your produce contact Food Connect Adelaide by email or phone within 24 hours of receipt of your produce so we can discuss an appropriate resolution with you. Due to the logistical difficulties of returning fresh produce, we prefer to offer replacement or seek an alternative solution where possible.
We also like to know if you are enjoying your produce and why. We value your feedback on all aspects of our project – this is how we grow as a community.
Privacy Policy and Data Protection
Food Connect Adelaide respects the confidentiality of our subscribers. The appropriate measures have been taken to ensure that your personal information is respected and kept confidential at all times. Any personal information collected from you is used solely for the purpose Food Connect Adelaide services and is never shared with mailing lists, advertisers or other third parties. No credit card numbers are stored in our system and your financial details are passed through a secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology. This will ensure your shopping experience is safe, sound and secure at all times.

Disclaimer
Food Connect Adelaide reserves the right to change our terms and conditions, website and policies at any time without notifying each subscriber.
Food Connect Adelaide will not be held responsible for any Acts of God or extreme weather events which may result in an inability to source local produce or deliver food . Every attempt will be made to make alternative arrangements to deliver produce via alternative means/on alternative day in the event of extreme weather conditions eg catastrophic bushfire weather conditions but this may not be possible for some delivery areas.
While we endeavour to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, we will not be liable for any economic loss, inconvenience or damages arising from the use of this site.
