Hi,
I was wondering if possible to order a box of just fruit on a weekly basis for a city office and how the cost will be calculated?
It would be great if this is possible!
Kind Regards,
Andrea
Hi Andrea. Yes it is, just not next month. We are offering mixed fruit and veg boxes only in our ‘pilot’ phase of Food Connect Adelaide which will run for approx. 4 weeks after our March 17 start date. We are fully intending after this pilot to offer boxes of purely fruit and purely veg for those who need that. Boxes will be costed and sold by weight as are the mixed boxes, ie: we set a box price and fill to that. How much is in it depends on market price of each item at the time. We are not fully resolved as to the final cost of these singular style boxes but it is anticipated that they will be offerred as small, medium, large sizeing and somewhat along the same pricing.Stay tuned. We will let you all know via the website and facebook when they become available ( maybe even sooner than anticipated!)
Good morning all,
Having not only just discovered you, but found you now deliver to Mt Barker, I would love to have a go at one of your boxes. But have a few questions first…
I know it is all dependant on supply and season, but before ordering a fruit and vege box, do you have a rough list of what to expect each week before we order?
What size would you recommend for a family of 5 (2 adults, a 5 yr old, almost 3yr old and almost 10 mnth old who LOVE their fruit and vege)?
Is it possible to ask for things to NOT be included in the boxes? Basically I am allergic to garlic and ALL onion types (including chives, spring onions, leeks, etc) and so can’t have it near me. Can you cater for that?
Keep up the good work, buying, supporting and eating locally is a passion of mine (its why I am studying nutrition) and one I want to expand until my family truely are locavores.
Many thanks,
Janis Littleton.
Hi Janis, we will be putting each weeks ‘whats in a box’ online this week so you will be able to garner an idea from that. A large box weekly , possible a small every other week. At this stage we cannot customise boxes to individual needs, both packing line staff and software prohibits this right now although we are looking at that in the longer term. We have swap boxes at City Cousins where you may be able to swap onions for other food stuff. Hope this helps! Thanks for your interest and support!
Hi,
I would LOVE to use this service. As soon as the Gulfview Heights cousin opens, can you let me know, I would love to start using this asap, but all other cousins are to far to travel. It would be great if you had more cousins in the Northern suburbs. I am at Mawson Lakes.
Kind regards,
Karen.
Sorry it said that you have Food Connect Homestead Woodville North. Could you tell me the address?so that I will know how far it will be from my house to the cousin.
Thank you
Regards
Wondering weather it is yet feasible to deliver into the Riverland (I am aware that some of the produce comes out of here). An exciting concept we would love to be part of.
hi guys – loving our boxes (seasonal roast veggies have got me hanging out for dinner tonight) but wondering if we can get the newsletter electronically rather than printed out in our box? Is this an option?
Hi Erin- we have talked about this but it is proving a little tricky. As boxes are identified by size and not subscriber, we cannot individualise boxes. We have contemplated making some copies only available for pick up from city cousins and not inside boxes, but as its our main form of communication with everyone- we feel risking this opportunity is not yet a good idea in our early stages. We will however return to the issue for sure.
Hi I am very interested in becoming a subscriber – my problem is that being a RN, I work shifts.
If the city cousins are only ‘open’ for a few hours on one day a week it means that I would not always be able to pick up the box. Am I understanding it right? Are there any ways round this?
Could you also let me know where the potential cousin for Hallett Cove is, as my daughter lives there and could possibly pick it up – although not on thursdays as she works them (and wednesdays)!
Hi Catherine. We leave finalisation of times and negotiation of times up to the city cousins, so in a situation such as yours we would suggest you negotiate an alternative pick up time with them. They are usually very understanding and accomodating! As for loation of Hallet Cove CC we cant give out details until subscriptions are done so I suggest you call the FCA office for some more specifics.
Finally in a position to ‘connect’ with Food Connect, and am so excited about being able to pick up my first box next week! Have had fabulous reviews (and meals using produce) from friends. Can’t wait to get into it myself!
Kudos to Food Connect and all staff and volunteers for making good quality, local and sustainable food available to us
Kind regards,
Amy
Any plans to extend your area to include the South East (Limestone Coast)?
Oh dear….I just picked up our first produce box today…and I’m afraid I have a serious complaint. The mandarins (which I never thought I liked before) are so absolutely delicious that I’m afraid I am going to eat them all tonight!
Fantastic produce! I’m really, really thrilled to be a customer.
Just wondering about apples. I notice that we always get some apples in the box but it doesn’t really seem to be apple season??? Are these ever cold stored apples?
