Setting up a business from a low financial base has many challenges. Its been a long haul over the last year for everyone here at Food Connect Adelaide; applications for Federal and State funding, business planning and development, generating a presence on the local food scene. Starting a fresh food system like Food Connect is no easy feat! But we’re nearly there! Some help from our interested and committed foodie community would be really appreciated, what we are in need of in the lead up to our March 4 launch are:

Computer – Laptops

Computer – Desktop

Modem/router

Computer security tie downs

Desks

Chairs

Filing cabinet

Kettle

Sandwich press

First aid kit

5 trestle tables or Stainless steel benches

Trolleys

Scales (kitchen)

Whiteboard

Old blankets to keep boxes cool

So if you happen to have any of these lying around, we are more thn happy to pick it/them up!

I have a 3 drawer metal filing cabinet, which ain’t that pretty looking but functional! It’s probably about 1.2m high x 40cm wide x 60cm deep. Let me know if you want more details…or I can send you a pic :-)

Hi Guys,
We have old scales, unsure what sort you need, but do come in and check it out. We might have a trestle table too, but need to consult with my other half on that. OH, and an old desk, if you are interested. Speak to Shane when you drop in.
Kas from Bliss.

I have a couple of old woollen blankets, that you are welcome to. Also an old electric kettle. I have only just bumped into this site by accident, by googling for fresh fuit and veggie delivery for Adelaide. It sounds fantastic. What exactly would be required of me, if I volunteered as a depot? I live in an inner north-eastern suburb….

Cheers,
Liz

Hi Liz. We’re pretty excited too. You can read about city cousins and the tasks involved using the city cousin tabs on this website else you can fill in the city cousin expression of interets form also on this site. We’d love to be the recipient of some blankets and possibly a kettle too. Someone will contact you in the next few days to discussand maybe then you can have a chat about whats involved in being a city cousin.
