Sunday saw the FCA mob take to the road and travel to Cul Fahane biodynamic beef farm near Milang, SA at the invitation of Liam and Madelaine Burns and it was great to see lots of Food Connecters turn up. It really shows producers that there are concerned , interested and supportive consumers out there!
We arrived a little late and missed the introduction to the place but joined the group for a meander through the world of biodynamic beef farming. Its all about the grass and grass health.
We then returned to the ‘shed’ and had a chat about the state or organics in SA and enjoyed a presentation by Pam and Tony from Barich biodynamic vineyard at loxton showcasing their stunning biodynamic paradise on the edge of the river. abundant wildlife co-exisiting with the vines.
Madeline laid on a superb feast of farm beef and local organic fruit and veg a memorable coleslaw and some truly amazing beetroot and chocolate brownies , quince cake and some Schultz apples to wash it all down and the kids had some extra delight in the beautiful and still fuzzy new foal. Food Connecters were present in substantial numbers and we hope to get back to the farm soon to help out with a day of tree planting and some more party!

Have you considered selling organic dairy & meat boxes? I would be very interested in purchasing these types of boxes also. A
Hi Amelia. Yes we have. As we re still such a young organisation, we are concentrating on our fruit and veg supplies and ensuring our systems are well in place before complicating our procedures – as you can imagine, dairy and meat require a whole other registration/ handling licenses! Additionally, we waiting for our online ordering system to be finalised before we take on any more product ranges. But stay tuned, we have big things in store.
